Poggio Mezzana Market

Location: Poggio Mezzana

Date: every Sunday from April to December

Castagniccia is a land of flavours, and we can find some of these every Sunday at the covered market of Poggio Mezzana. Fresh fruit and vegetables, traditional Corsican biscuits, Corsican cured meats, goat and sheep cheeses, fresh fish, everything you need to make delicious dishes.


San Brancà Fair

Location: San Brancà

Date: in May, during Saint Pancras celebration

This is a very old Corsican traditional fair which takes place in Casinca during the celebration of Saint Pancras in May. This fair is mainly based on mixed farming. You will see a tundera (shearing) and other demonstrations, contests with horses and Corsican rams…

Corsican songs concerts, chjam’e rispondi, traditional Corsican dances enliven the fair and make the atmosphere very festive.

Col de Prato Fair

Location: Col de Prato

Date: last weekend of July

A typical country fair where you will discover various local producers and craftsmen.

The Fair of the Col de Prato (or « Fiera di Bocca di u Pratu » in Corsican) takes place every summer during the last weekend of July. Come to discover the main traditional fair of breeders of the island, at nearly 1000m above sea level, in Castagniccia.

Enjoy many debates and contests (bulls and cows, Corsican breed of rams, goats, horses…), a big running race (Bocca di Prato – San Pedrone return trip, 9km on vertical drop of 780m), but also games and entertainment for children and adults too.

This is also the opportunity to taste many Corsican specialties and purchase products of local gastronomy and crafts (cheese, honey, pastries, knives, jewelry …), but also to immerse yourself in the culture of Corsica by participating at Corsican songs nights or attend the sung Mass of San Petru Accia, or by going to the inevitable boules contest!


Arcarota Market

Location : Col d’Arcarota

Date : every Sunday in July and August

Come to discover, in a gorgeous setting at nearly 800m above sea level, the Col d’Arcarota, overlooking the pieve (religious districts) of Alesani and Orezza. There takes place a traditional market which gathers local producers and craftsmen: market gardening produces, cured meats, cheeses, honey, wine, objects, books … Enjoy the flavours of Corsica like migliacci, thick cheese-based cakes cooked in a wood fire on chestnut tree leaves.


Local Mondays

Location: Pero Casevecchie

Date: every Monday in July and August

Fragrances fair, flavours market, in the heart of the Costa Verde!

Come each Monday to discover our craftsmen (basketry, pottery, cutlery …) and producers (wines, cheeses, cold meats, cosmetics, hazelnut products …) in the village of Pero Casevecchie. You could be amazed by a singular show in the church with a free concert of polyphonic songs, which will submerge you into the heart of our traditions and our culture. To get over your emotions and finish the day, book your traditional Corsican meal to prolong these moments of exchange and friendliness.

Pero Casevecchie:

  • 5 pm: Craft fair
  • 7:30 pm: concert in the church


  • 9 pm : Corsican meal (on booking)


Hazelnut fair

Location: Cervione

Date: second-to-last weekend of August

The hazelnut is the emblematic fruit of the Costa Verde. Every year during the month of August, in the village of Cervione, the Hazelnut fair attracts many visitors. The greediest will be delighted to discover all kinds of cakes and hazelnut confectioneries such as Corsican chocolate spread but also salinu (condiment made from sea salt and chopped nuts) or hazelnut oil.

Various activities for children are offered (makeup, rides on donkeys …).
