A Salviata

Ingredients :

  • 500g of flour
  • 150g of sugar
  • 20g of icing sugar
  • 150g of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Sacket of yeast
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 zest of grated lemon
  • 1 sage leaf

Preparation :

  1. Dry the sage leaf in a warm oven, mashed until it turns into power. Thin down the yeast with warm water and let it rest for an hour.
  2. In a bowl, mix the yeast, the flour, the sugar, the melted butter, the zest and the eggs as well as the sage leaf, then salt.
  3. Knead the pastry, and let it rest covered for 1hour. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  4. Split the rise pastry in 4 of about 15cm long, then spread it on an oily plaque or on some greaseproof paper in shape of an S
  5. Cook for 20 minutes. Take it out of the oven and dust the top with icing sugar.
